SMART LUGGAGE & TRACKERS
Luggage trackers and smart tags answer the one question nobody at the airport can: where is my bag right now. At Around the World in a Rush, this part of the Travel Tech collection covers Bluetooth trackers, smart tags and tracking accessories.
A tracker will not stop a bag being misrouted. What it does is turn a shrug at the baggage desk into a location you can point at, which is usually the difference between a bag that comes back in a day and one that quietly disappears into a system.
Worth pairing with Travel Safety Tech for locks, and with our Bags collection if you are rebuilding your setup from scratch.

FAQ
Are luggage trackers allowed in checked bags?▼
Yes. Bluetooth trackers and smart tags use tiny coin-cell batteries and are permitted in checked baggage by the TSA and FAA, and by airlines generally. A short-lived ban attempted by one carrier in 2022 was reversed.
Do trackers work if there is no phone signal?▼
Most consumer tags have no cellular radio of their own. They report their position by piggybacking on other nearby phones in the same network, which is why they work well in airports and cities and poorly in genuinely remote places.
Where should I put the tracker in my bag?▼
Somewhere internal and not obvious — an inner pocket rather than clipped to the outside handle. It stays with the bag, and it is far less likely to be removed or knocked off in transit.
